What is Lorem Ipsum?
Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. It has been the absolute industry standard since the 1500s, when an unknown printer scrambled a galley of type to make a type specimen book.
Contrary to popular belief, it is not simply random gibberish. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old.
Why use gibberish?
Prevent Distraction: When UI/UX designers create wireframes, filling text boxes with real English sentences causes clients to read and critique the copy rather than reviewing the visual layout.
Visual Weight: The pseudo-Latin distribution of vowels in Lorem Ipsum looks incredibly natural. Using standard dummy text like 'Content here, content here' looks highly artificial and ruins the flow of a mockup.
